Photo with Kids

Useful only if the kids are yours and your profile makes that clear.

Photos with kids are common and often misused. If the kids are yours and your profile reflects that you're a parent, a kid photo is a useful signal. If the kids are nieces, nephews, or friends' children, the photo confuses viewers who can't tell which it is — leading to a higher pass rate.

When it works

  • The kids are yours and your profile says so
  • Position 3 or later, not lead
  • One kid photo in the set, not three

When it fails

  • Niece/nephew situation that reads as 'are these their kids?'
  • Lead photo with kids — confusing first impression
  • Multiple kid photos when bio doesn't clarify parental status

Do this

  • Add 'dad/mom of two' or similar to bio if using kid photos
  • One photo, with the relationship visually clear

Avoid

  • ×Kid photos when the kids aren't yours and you don't say so
  • ×Using kid photos as a 'softness signal' when context isn't clear

Best position

Position 3

Use this photo type at position 3 of your profile. Photos in the wrong slot underperform even when the photo itself is good.
