Soft Ghosting
Replying with low-effort acknowledgments to slowly fade out, instead of fully disappearing.
Definition
Soft ghosting is the slow-fade version of ghosting. Instead of going completely silent, the person replies with bare-minimum acknowledgments — likes on messages, single-emoji responses, or three-day gaps before short replies — until the conversation dies of natural causes. The end result is the same as ghosting, but with plausible deniability.
