Five rules before you copy any of these
- 1.Reference something specific. Generic openers convert at single-digit rates.
- 2.Ask one question. Two questions makes you sound nervous; zero gives nothing to respond to.
- 3.Keep it under 25 words. Long opening messages dramatically underperform.
- 4.Don't open with 'hey', 'wyd', or 'how's your week'. These are the documented worst openers.
- 5.Compliment specifics, not appearance. 'I love your dog' beats 'you're beautiful'.
