Swipe Right

App feature

On Tinder, indicating interest in a profile by swiping right.

What it means

Swipe right is the gesture on Tinder (and similar apps) that signals 'yes, interested' on a profile. Swiping left means pass. The phrase has entered general English as shorthand for any quick yes/no decision. Tinder introduced the gesture in 2012; it's now culturally synonymous with online dating.
